Bangchak Group CEO gave the Keynote Address at the Annual Meeting of the Association of Thai Government Scholarship Students

Chaiwat Kovavisarach, Group Chief Executive Officer and President, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, gave the keynote address at the 2022 Annual Meeting of the Association of Thai Government Scholarship Students (ATGOSS), titled “Vision for the Energy Crisis, and the Challenges to National Security”, as the head of a large Thai energy corporation. The event was held to raise awareness of the Association’s activities, gathering the opinions and experiences of member scholarship students for constructive approaches to national development, presided by Professor Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat, ATGOSS President, presenting honorary pins to Thai Government scholarship students and rising stars in 2022 at the C-asean Center, CW Tower recently.

Chaiwat talked of the national energy consumption that is continually on the rise, reflecting economic and population growth, aligned with global trends which will continue to depend on fossil fuels by balancing the three challenges of the Energy Trilemma, namely, energy security, energy affordability, and environmental sustainability, which will enhance energy security during the time needed to transition to clean energy. Simultaneously, importance must be given to environmental sustainability through Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), as well as supplementary new energy alternatives like hydrogen, and cited Taxonomy, a carbon investment tool, as supported Thailand’s adjustment to accommodate the Net Zero target.

Moreover, he spoke of the Group’s operations, as the Leader in Energy Transition, presently compose of 5 business groups and 1 Initiative and Innovation Center (BiiC), with operations in 10 countries around the world, targeting Carbon Neutrality by 2030, and Net Zero GHG Emissions by 2050, adopting the BCP 3156 NET approach and emphasizing ongoing local and international investments in accordance to the vision of “Crafting a Sustainable World with Evolving Greenovation” and highlighted the recently launched new logo of Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited.
