Bangchak Wins the Prestigious Global Performance Excellence Awards 2023-World Class

The First Thai Organization from the Industrial Sector and the World’s First and Only Refinery to Receive this World Class Level Quality Award

The Asia Pacific Quality Organization, Inc. (APQO) announced Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited as the awardee of the Global Performance Excellence Award (GPEA) 2023 achieving the eminent World Class level, which is the highest level of this prestigious global award in management. Being the first and only oil refinery in the world to receive this highest level of recognition reflects Bangchak’s world-class standards and an exemplar in implementing quality assessment criteria at the international level to enhance management practices in all operational dimension.

Bangchak is the first organization from the industrial sector in Thailand to receive the highest-level Global Performance Excellence Award since its inception in 2000. This recognition comes after the company was the only refinery to be awarded Thailand Quality Award in 2022. This achievement has been accomplished through continuous efforts in elevating management standards and organizational development. Bangchak has met the criteria for global management excellence and possesses the attributes outlined by the Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO), signifying its status as a recipient of the Thailand Quality Award and endorsement from the National Quality Award Office, and has garnered support from APQO members.

The Global Performance Excellence Award is organized by the Asia Pacific Quality Organization, Inc (APQO), a non-profit international organization from New Zealand.

APQO was established in 1985 and is internationally recognized as the accreditor of international quality management. APQO comprises of the national quality associations of some 20 countries across the Asia Pacific region, including the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, People’s Republic of China and Thailand. The award is designed to acknowledge and honour organizations that demonstrate in quality management and development, adhering to international standards across all operational facets. Its primary objective is to elevate organizational competitiveness to align with global benchmarks. The award presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place during the 28th APQO International Conference in Nepal in November this year.
