Bangchak Executive Shares Sustainable Organizational Development Insights at Mahidol Quality Fair 2023

Gloyta Nathalang, Executive Vice President, Corporate Branding, Communication and Sustainability Activation, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited was the keynote speaker on “Sustainable Organization Development Focusing on Environment, Society, and Governance (ESG)” at the Mahidol Quality Fair 2023, organized by Mahidol University under the topic of “Decade of Quality Fair: Towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”. Professor Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., President of Mahidol University, presided over the event, with more than 1,500 Mahidol University student and personnel participating in the hybrid event held at Prince Mahidol University, Salaya, and online.

Gloyta shared Bangchak’s fundamental principle of conducting business, emphasizing the importance of creating balance in various aspects, such as the balance between value and virtue, and balance of responsibility according to ESG principles. She highlighted how Bangchak had adopted a corporate governance policy since 2003 which included business ethics, anti-corruption, as well as organizing seminars to raise awareness for its business partners. Bangchak has been incorporating ESG principles into its business practices since the opening of its first community or cooperative service station 33 years ago, continuing this commitment with the establishment of Winnonie, sustainable aviation fuel and numerous other businesses. In terms of the environment, Bangchak emphasizes the importance of mitigating climate change and environmental responsibility, both externally and within the organization. The company stresses the need to engage all stakeholders in caring for society and surrounding communities. Bangchak integrates human rights as an operational approach, which includes providing care to its employees through the 100X Happiness strategy. Furthermore, Bangchak fosters innovation and future-oriented operations by incorporating technology into its business development, constantly developing, and transforming in order to compete with large organizations globally. In 2022, Bangchak Phra Khanong Refinery, Refinery and Oil Trading Business became the only refinery to receive the Thailand Quality Award 2022. Most recently, it received the Global Performance Excellence Award 2023 – World Class, the first and only refinery in the world to receive the prestigious award.
