Bangchak’s “Job Creation” Initiative Bolsters Local Economy Near Bangchak Phra Khanong Refinery

Gloyta Nathalang, Acting Senior Executive Vice President, Sustainability Management and Corporate Communications, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited launched an activity and awarded certificates to participants of Bangchak’s “Job Creation” initiative with culinary training on spicy salad preparation to members of communities surrounding Bangchak Phra Khanong Refinery which took place at Bangchak Phra Khanong Refinery.

The initiative was aimed at individuals currently unemployed without income and those seeking additional income opportunities to support the community with vocational skills that will enable self-reliance and provide a better quality of life. Professor Jureerat Buaban from Rangsit University, Chef Warintip Arkomvichitchai, and Chef Warralux Rabeng from Little Bite Studio jointly led the instruction. Through deliberation by the instructors, the competition's winner will have the right to sell their food products at Bangchak Corporation Head Office at M Tower, and Bangchak Phra Khanong Refinery, according to the Company’s terms and conditions. Moreover, Bangchak will provide further opportunities for participants to explore suitable channels to sell food.

Moreover, the initiative provided knowledge on estimating costs, pricing, income and expenditure accounting, packaging, and sales promotion to establish standard practices for local businesses in the community. A popular vote by a taste test from Bangchak employees, who adjudicated and presented the award to inspire and motivate participants.

This initiative has been continuously organized since 2023 to provide culinary knowledge of both savory and sweet dishes to support the community's livelihoods. It has been expanded to include vocational skills in high-demand trades such as electricians and plumbers to create livelihoods and incomes, improve the quality of life for families, strengthen the local community economy, and contribute to a sustainable society.
