Bangchak Boosts Thai Athletes to International Level, Nurturing Sustainable Athletic Excellence

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin presided over as the chairperson and witnessed the signing of the memorandum of understanding to support sports associations by state enterprises and the private sector. This initiative aims to develop and promote sports as an important Soft Power for the country. Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited will support the Thailand Boxing Association for four years, from 2025 to 2028, to develop Thai athletes’ capabilities continuously and sustainably for international competitions.

Chokchai Atsawarangsalit, Senior Executive Vice President, Corporate Management and Organization Development, Bangchak Corporation, and Pol. Lt. Gen. Chaiwat Chotima, Vice President and Secretary of the Thailand Boxing Association, jointly signed the memorandum. The Minister of Tourism and Sports, Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol; Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, Prommin Lertsuridej; Asst. Prof. Pimol Srivikorn, Advisor to the Prime Minister; Supanij Jaiwat, Advisor to the Prime Minister, Dato Seri Chaiyapak Siriwat, Director-General, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand; Tibordee Wattnakul, Director-General, State Enterprise Policy Office and, Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand serving as witnesses to the ceremony at the Thai Government House Santi Maitri Building.

Signing the memorandum of cooperation will help drive the development of the sport of boxing in Thailand and enhance the quality of Thai athletes and personnel in the field. This is in line with Bangchak’s policy to promote and support sports, which has consistently been implemented through support for organizing competitions and support for sports organizations to create opportunities and develop athletes' skills in preparation to compete at both the national and international levels. Bangchak was one of 38 enterprises that will support 87 sports associations under the management of the Sports Authority of Thailand. This collaboration will enable various sports associations to make effective long-term plans, resulting in maximum benefits for developing the Thai sports industry.
