Bangchak Group Expands “Fry to Fly” and “No Refry” Campaigns, Partners with Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce to Promote Conversion of Used Cooking Oil into SAF

Thamarat Paryoonsuk, Senior Executive Vice President, Refinery and Oil Trading Business Group, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and Chairperson of the Board, BSGF Company Limited, Julanit Wangwiwat, President, Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce, and Tanawat Linjongsubongkot, President, Thanachok Group, signed a memorandum of understanding to manage used cooking oil and establish guidelines for cooking oil usage for food manufacturers. This includes refraining from refrying used cooking oil to ensure safety and quality of life for the consumer, advocating for proper management of used cooking oil to prevent disposal and contamination into public spaces, reducing potential environmental impacts, and recycling it into SAF. Dr. Sidaphan Yutabutr, Acting Director, Regional Health Promotion Center 1 Chiang Mai, served as a witness during the signing ceremony. Through the “Fry to Fly” and “No Refry” campaigns, this cooperation fosters participation across all sectors in comprehensively promoting the economy, environmental conservation, and general health and well-being.

Bangchak currently collects used cooking oil from 162 collection points at designated Bangchak service stations nationwide, as well as from over 1,000 partner organizations, integrating the BSGF and Thanachok networks. Collectively, the network gathers up to 400,000 liters per day, and plans to engage new partners to expand the network continuously for SAF production. The construction of the production unit is proceeding as scheduled.
