Bangchak Wins the Prestigious Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2024

• Awarded “Green Leadership” for Carbon Markets Club
• Recognized with “Silver Emblem of Sustainability” as a seven-time AREA winner

Gloyta Nathalang, Senior Executive Vice President, Sustainability Management and Corporate Communications, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and Chairperson of Carbon Markets Club received the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2024 for Green Leadership for Carbon Markets Club’s pivotal role in driving Thailand’s energy transition towards a low-carbon society, and the Silver Emblem of Sustainability for Bangchak’s outstanding commitment to social responsibility and environmental initiatives in various operations and projects, including its seventh AREA-win at the 15th Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards in Ho Chin Minh City, Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The awards are organized by Enterprise Asia, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and developing socially responsible and environmentally sustainable businesses in Asia.

Carbon Markets Club, operated by Bangchak and BCPG Public Company Limited, received the AREA 2024 award for Green Leadership for its role in raising public awareness of climate change through various communication channels such as webinars and the monthly “DID YOU KNOW? The Series” articles, promoting behavioral change to reduce carbon footprints, as well as developing a marketplace for carbon credit trading, a carbon footprint of organization (CFO) tool, and “My CF” application, a personal carbon footprint assessment tool. These Initiatives have been well-received by various organizations and the general public since their launch in 2021 by the 11 founding members, led by Bangchak and BCPG. Presently, the Carbon Markets Club has over 1,000 members, including organizations and individuals.

Additionally, Bangchak received the Silver Emblem of Sustainability, awarded to organizations that have consistently excelled in the AREA due to outstanding initiatives and being a model of business that emphasizes sustainable organization development. Bangchak has received AREA seven times since 2014 (Green Leadership in 2014, Social Empowerment in 2015, Health Promotion in 2016, Circular Economy and Responsible Business Leadership in 2020, and Investment in People in 2021 and 2023.)

The Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) is an Asian recognition program organized by Enterprise Asia, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and developing responsible entrepreneurship throughout Asia. AREA identifies and honors organizations with outstanding environmental responsibility and sustainable business development achievements.
