Bangchak Group CEO Shares Leadership Mindset in a Time of Transformation Driving Success through “Transformation & Synergy” at A Night Out with CEOs on Transformation by TMA

On 25 March 2025, Mr. Chaiwat Kovavisarach, Group Chief Executive Officer and President of Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, was invited to share his experience at A Night Out with CEOs on Transformation, organized by the Thailand Management Association (TMA), at the Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok. Mr. Chaiwat shared his leadership experiences and perspectives on driving transformation and synergy to lead the organization toward tangible, resilient, and adaptive success.

Drawing on a diverse career path; as an engineer, investment banker, and financial advisor in both domestic and international contexts, Mr. Chaiwat reflected on how these experiences shaped his leadership and enabled him to lead Bangchak to become a top-tier energy company driven by the strength of its people and agile strategic management. He emphasized key leadership principles such as asking “why,” thinking outside the box, maintaining strong liquidity, and making decisions based on up-to-date data. He highlighted that true leaders must never let a crisis pass without learning from it - every problem holds hidden opportunities for those who are brave enough to ask, act, and adapt.

Mr. Chaiwat also underscored the importance of not being afraid to fail, as failure offers lessons that help one rise faster and stronger. However, it is essential to analyze the causes and turn those lessons into wisdom for moving forward. Most importantly, he believes in finding joy in the work and viewing problems as challenges, not obstacles. Another guiding principle he holds firmly is to pursue actions that can be explained, standing on reason, and integrity, rather than following trends or popularity.

Under his leadership, Bangchak has systematically advanced its diversification strategy by expanding beyond its traditional energy business to focus on green innovation and products that align with modern lifestyles. This includes the development of modern-designed service stations, the strengthening of non-oil businesses, renewable energy, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), among others. At the same time, the company continues to strengthen energy security through major strategic moves such as being a major shareholder of OKEA ASA, a Norwegian oil and gas company, and the acquisition of former Esso (Thailand), now operating as Bangchak Sriracha Public Company Limited (BSRC). These milestones contribute to a fully integrated and resilient value chain across the Bangchak Group.
