The Way of the BCG Economy
at APEC 2022 THAILAND
An important opportunity for Thailand as the host of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meetings 2022 or APEC 2022 Thailand at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center from 14 - 19 November 2022, Bangchak Group, as an APEC 2022 Communication Partner, was part of the host public relations of APEC 2022 Thailand, and exhibiting its business operations according to the BCG Economy Model, welcoming and catering to 2,200 local and foreign members of the press, staff from various agencies, and representatives from partner organizations at the Media Center.

The exhibition reflected business operations covering the entire Bio, Circular, and Green Economy such as being the Leader in Bio-based business through BBGI Public Company Limited, clean energy business through BCPG Public Company Limited, launching the BCP 316 NET plan to mobilize the Green Economy towards a low-carbon society, developing its businesses to achieve the Net Zero target in 2050, as well as establishing the Carbon Markets Club with many organizations to reduce the effects of greenhouse gas emissions from business operations through carbon credit trading, and pioneering Thailand’s Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production from used cooking oil.
The Unique Design Service Station Experience and Refreshment from Inthanin and Nuanjai Plums
The exhibition also featured a model of the Unique Design service station from Sukhumvit 62, a digital Overhead Type dispenser system that reduces space, and the Hupkapong Giant, from Hupkapong Bangchak service station in Petchaburi Province, welcoming members of the press from around the world. Nearly 7,000 beverages from Inthanin were served over the 6-day event featuring biodegradable bioplastic cups, the Bio Cup, first introduced by Inthanin in 2015, produced from plants and 100% naturally bio-compostable, and presently its largest user. Moreover, Nuanjai soft-dried plums were given away, a community product that Bangchak supports by offering the item as complementary gifts for its service station customers.
Drop-Off Services within the Center by Winnonie
Winnonie, an EV motorbike rental platform with integrated battery swapping services, exclusively provided drop-off services from 12 EV motorbikes within the 22,000 square meter Media Center, creating a new pollution-free, environmentally-friendly experience, and an important highlight well-received by the media and participants.
Carbon Offsets for the APEC 2022 Carbon Neutral Media Center
Committed to be a part of the solution of the problem of global warming, Bangchak Group is part of the Care the Bear campaign to mobilize the low-carbon society by the Stock Exchange of Thailand, to make the meetings an environmentally-friendly event, reducing emissions as much as possible, and collaborating with partners, Yip In Tsoi, ROOTCLOUD, and the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO), to calculate and offset carbon emissions through carbon credits (TVERs) from BCPG through trading on the Carbon Markets Club and its more than 130 member organizations, creating a Carbon Neutral Media Center supporting the Green APEC 2022 Media Center.
The Carbon Dioxide emissions (Carbon Footprint) during the entire meeting, reported at approximately 2,366.21 tons of Carbon Dioxide equivalent (data to be confirmed by verifier), will be offset in its entirety by Bangchak to make a Carbon Neutral Media Center.
