Orphan Waste Collection On the Rise

In 2022, more than 78 tons of orphan waste were collected through Bangchak service stations, and within only the first three months of 2023, over 40 tons have already been collected. This reflects the campaign’s positive public reception and interest in reducing waste at the source. The increase can be attributed to households and businesses adopting Circular Economy waste management practices, participating in efforts to promote a low-carbon society, and reduce the burden on the environment.

Expanding the Network and Providing Convenience for Environmental Enthusiasts

Last year, in addition to orphan waste drop-off and collection points at Bangchak service stations, Bangchak also promoted orphan waste sorting at the company’s head office and refinery as well as partnering with Sansiri to set up an orphan waste collection point at Habito Mall, inviting residents, partners, communities, and individuals to sort waste and participate in the campaign. In 2023, Bangchak has further expanded the cooperation network by establishing almost 10 collection points in community schools around Bangchak Refinery, connecting the community, school officers, and students.

Everyone can participate in caring for the environment by reducing waste at the source or practicing proper waste management. Simply sort out orphan waste, rinse, then leave it to dry, and pack it tightly in a bag. The orphan waste can then be dropped off at designated Bangchak service stations on the scheduled day. This can be easily done without having to leave your vehicle, as there are volunteers available to help transfer the waste into the truck. Various types of paper, oil-coated, adhesive tape, newspaper, brochure, printed materials, paper cups, tissue cores, egg trays, fruit trays, milk and juice cartons, paper napkins, food wipes.

Aluminum foil, lids, food wrapping foil.

Bottles for contact lens solution, liquid medication (empty the contents without rinsing), shampoo, milk, water, yoghurt.

Sachets and packets for instant noodles, pastry, envelopes, coffee, medicine sachets, expired medication, seasoning (fish sauce, salt, chili pickle, soy sauce etc. must first be emptied)

Tubes for toothpaste, coffee, thread spool, various creams.

Cloth, cleaning cloth, old clothes, old socks, used underwear, burlap sack, undershirt.

Plastic cup, paper coffee cup, coated paper cup.

Car and motorcycle tyres, inner tubes (remove valve stem before disposal).

Simply sort out these orphan waste, rinse, leave them to dry, then pack it tightly in a bag to be dropped off and transformed into alternative fuel.
