“Together, We Stand Strong” Baan Bangchak x Banthongyord
A Decade of Mutual Empowerment
From a small Thai dessert shop to Thailand’s first badminton school, “Banthongyord” has become the nurturing ground for world-class badminton champions like Ratchanok Intanon (May) and Kunlavut Vitidsarn (View). Kunlavut also brought home Thailand’s first Olympic badminton medal, a silver, from the Paris 2024 Olympics, capturing the hearts of the entire nation.
Together, We Stand Strong
On Banthongyord's journey to success, with around 400 students today, Bangchak has been a steadfast partner, offering support and empowerment for a full decade.
Since 2015, when Bangchak officially began supporting Banthongyord Badminton School, “Baan Bangchak” and “Banthongyord” have journeyed together on the path of fostering a sustainable society through youth development. The young athletes of Banthongyord consistently receive encouragement from their Bangchak family, whether competing at the national or international level. When they are not training or competing, the management, staff, and athletes of Banthongyord regularly take part in community activities with Bangchak, contributing to society together.
"Together, we enhance potential and create opportunities for athletes"
through continuous support, encouragement, joint training sessions, friendly matches, and participation in health-promoting campaigns.
"Together, we create a better society"
through various activities such as planting trees to expand green spaces and alleviating the impact of COVID-19 by inviting the public to join relief efforts.
"Together, we campaign against global warming"
as representatives of the new generation, encouraging lifestyle changes through the "Abate, Avoid, Act with May, View, Jew" campaign (Abate carbon emissions, Avoid harming the environment, Act today and every day). This initiative, developed by the Carbon Markets Club, extends further by offsetting the carbon footprints of May, View, and Jew in their daily lives, making them Thailand's first carbon-neutral athletes.
As a Thai company that believes in and continuously supports Thai people, Bangchak is proud and delighted to have been part of Banthongyord’s journey over the past decade. This success reaffirms Bangchak’s commitment to driving sustainable social development by enhancing the potential of Thai youth and inspiring future generations to pursue sports. Bangchak believes that this momentum will not only bring new achievements to the sports world but will also continue to be a force that creates value and spreads happiness in Thai society in the future.
“Thank you very much, Khun Mae Pook (Kamala Thongkorn), Coach Pae (Phattapol Ngernsrisuk), and Coach Art (Pol. Lt. Col. Pongpanat Kritanukul). These past 10 years have been a true joy, seeing the growth of badminton talents from May’s generation to View today. I know there are many more young players waiting in the wings, and for that, I’m thankful to Banthongyord, a humble home that has brought happiness to the entire nation. I’m especially thrilled today, seeing these young athletes who visit us every year to wish us a Happy New Year - they are always such delightful spirits. We welcomed View when he was just a secondary school student, and now, he’s not only brought home a silver medal in badminton but also Thailand’s very first Olympic medal in this sport. View has many more years of promise ahead, and we’ll be there to support him and other athletes on their journeys. Congratulations to the entire Banthongyord team. It’s been a privilege and a great pride for Bangchak to support Banthongyord and Thai athletes.”
- Chaiwat Kovavisarach -Group Chief Executive Officer and President Bangchak Corporation Plc.
"I am happy and proud to have done what Bangchak believes in for Banthongyord, supporting us for over ten years. We have built, nurtured, and pushed athletes together to this point, where we have achieved a historic Olympic medal for Thai badminton. I feel joyful every time we participate in activities together; it feels like we are family. I am proud and hope we can continue like this. Whatever we can do to give back to Bangchak, we are ready to do our best, to live up to the trust and support Bangchak has shown Banthongyord. The success we have today comes from everyone working together, and I want to thank the Thai people for supporting our athletes."
- Phattapol Ngernsrisuk -(Coach Pae)
"Bangchak has been with me in every moment, whether celebrating victories or comforting me when I felt down or disappointed. For the past 10 years, I have always received support from everyone at Bangchak, helping me pursue my dreams. Now, as I approach the end of my career, Bangchak is still by my side, supporting me like a family. I am very happy to have Bangchak as my other family."
- Ratchanok Intanon -(May)
“I'm grateful for all the support I've received, and there are still many goals I’m eager to pursue. I’m confident that Bangchak will continue to be by my side on this journey. Beyond sports, Bangchak has opened my eyes to the importance of caring for our planet. Since embracing the role of advocating for behavioural change, I’ve made simple but meaningful shifts, like using my own cup and cloth bags to reduce plastic waste and combat global warming. I must admit, I wasn’t always this mindful, but now, seeing how quickly the world is changing, I realise how important it is to do our part. I invite everyone to join me in taking care of our world, and I encourage all Bangchak fans to keep cheering for Thai athletes across all sports."
- Kunlavut Vitidsarn -(View)
"In the past year, I was injured and didn’t compete, so I spent more time with myself and changed my behaviour to take care of the world. After helping communicate the 'Abate, Avoid, Act with May, View, Jew' campaign, I’ve done so myself and started new habits. When I go to convenience stores, I no longer use plastic bags but always use cloth bags. During training, I have my own water bottle. I also practise waste separation. At Banthongyord, we’d already separated basic waste, but I’m happy that Bangchak provided clear guidance on waste separation, which has now become a habit for me. When I go out, if I throw waste together, I feel guilty. If we want to see the world become bright again with a good environment, we all need to keep reducing, avoiding, and starting new habits. As for badminton, I will return to competition when I’m ready. Thank you, Bangchak, for your constant support."
