Bangchak Invites Environmental Partners to the Beautiful Khlong, Clear Waters Campaign Marking 4 December Thai Environment Day
Thamarat Paryoonsuk, Senior Executive Vice President, Refinery Business Group, and Chokchai Atsawarangsalit Senior Executive Vice President, Corporate Management and Organization Development, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and representatives of partnering organizations led by Maj. Gen. Sipant Panwawattana, Deputy Director General, the Defence Science and Technology Department, Chatri Wattanakhejorn, BMA Deputy Permanent Secretary, Superintendent of Phra Khanong Metropolitan Police Station, Assistant Director of Phra Khanong District, Department of Drainage and Sewerage representative, and representatives of participating schools, communities, schools, and students from Bangchak Refinery communities joined the Beautiful Khlong, Clear Waters Campaign marking 4 December Thai Environment Day, with the objective of improving the conditions of khlongs and the surrounding environment around Bangchak Refinery, in preparation for the installation of water treatment systems in future phases.
The Beautiful Khlong, Clear Waters Campaign is the collaboration of various organizations and local communities to care for society and the environment in the areas surrounding Bangchak operations and other areas in accordance with the Bangchak WOW model, which represents W - Well-Being Improvement, O - Oxygen Enhancement, and W - Water Management and the procurement of used cooking oil to reduce pollution of water ways and adverse health effects from repeated use to further, which can be processed into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and another source of income for the people in the community.
The event also showcased the Friends of Pa Green Shelter Campaign, information about used cooking oil, and SAF production, and demonstration of the process of procuring used cooking oil, as well as making EM Balls, UHT milk carton collection, and presentation of sporting equipment to local youths to promote constructive and productive leisure activities.
